Crowns & Bridges
A crown is a cap that covers a weakened or heavily restored tooth. A bridge replaces a missing tooth by anchoring a false tooth to the teeth on either side.

What a consultation may cover
- How much healthy tooth remains
- The condition of neighbouring teeth for a bridge
- Material options and appearance
- Alternatives such as implants or partial dentures
What to expect
The tooth is shaped and an impression or scan is taken. A temporary may be placed while the final crown or bridge is made, then it's fitted and adjusted.
Things to know
Preparing teeth for a crown or bridge removes some natural tooth structure. Crowns and bridges still need good cleaning around them.
Questions to ask your dentist
